Lisbet Lonvig

Lisbet Lonvig was born in Denmark, Scandinavia, and immigrated to Australia in 1989. A lifelong interest in art, working with graphic design in Denmark, and certificates in Art & Design and I.T, have given her a sound grasp of her chosen artforms:
- digital photographic compositions/collages,
- jewellery design
- life drawing.
Lisbet is a prolific producer of art, turning her hand to one or another of her mediums for what appears to be every significant event in the region's arts field. She accepts commission work in both life drawing and art photography. Artworks can be seen in various exhibitions in Western Australia. Lisbet is a member of the life drawing group 'Bodylines'. Her most recent exhibition was the “Art Angel winter exhibition”, at the Red Mill Gallery, Bunbury in late June, 2009. Citing her Scandinavian heritage and a background in graphic design and technology, Lisbet seeks to incorporate contemporary design elements in both Life Drawing and Photography. In recent years, she feels the camera has become an extension of her eyes. Compositions and images can be found everywhere with such a perspective. The most simple and insignificant objects, quite often become works of art when you single them out, allowing their form and colour to dominate and see them for their own beauty, Lisbet says. Her jewellery designs, incorporating Freshwater Pearls and Gemstones wrapped with silver wire, take elements of organic shapes. Using formal materials to create informal contemporary designs, gives some exciting results. Lisbet's jewellery can be viewed and purchased at The Red Mill Gallery, Bunbury
